(1) After examining the patient, bedside cleaning should be performed immediately. Cleaning in the washing room should follow the procedure of leakage test, manual cleaning, disinfectant immersion, sterile water rinsing, and proper storage.
(2) Endoscopes themselves cannot be sterilized by high-temperature and high-pressure methods (endoscopes that can typically withstand high-temperature and high-pressure sterilization will be marked with "AUTOCLAVE" or "AUTOCLAVABLE" or a green mark on their appearance).
(3) Confirm that the cleaning tools are not dirty, that there are no water droplets inside the waterproof cover, and that the cleaning tools have no wear, scratches, cracks, twists, or metal and bristle shedding, etc. Poor-quality cleaning tools not only cannot effectively clean the endoscope but can also cause damage to the endoscope.
(4) Before storing the endoscope, please Confirm that the surface of the endoscope and all channels are completely dry. Residual water vapor can help bacteria in the air to multiply and grow inside and outside the endoscope, causing contamination.
(5) Clean endoscopes should be hung vertically in a dry place with a moderate temperature. Suitcases should not be used to store cleaned and disinfected endoscopes; they should only be used for transportation.
