Several common methods for detecting water leaks in endoscopes

Leak detection is an extremely important method for early detection of endoscope water immersion related failures. Ignoring leak detection leads to late discovery of failures, causing the scope of water immersion failures to expand. It can easily cause serious failures such as CCD burnout and rusting of metal parts, greatly reducing the service life of the endoscope and bringing high repair costs. Therefore, leak testing should be performed using the correct method before cleaning and disinfection.

First, check the air pump and leak detector. Connect the leak detector to the air pump leak detection interface, turn on the air pump power, and gently press the protrusion in the leak detector connector cap with your finger to confirm that the leak detector can exhaust air.
Second, confirm that there is no water inside the leak detector connector cap, and confirm that there is no water in the gaps on the side, front, and inside front of the 290 endoscope ventilation interface.

Third, connect the connector cap of the leak detector to the ventilation interface of the 290 endoscope, and rotate clockwise until it cannot be rotated.
Fourth, before entering the water, check if there is a slight bulge in the bending rubber of the endoscope.
Fifth, after placing the endoscope in the water tank, first remove the air bubbles from the surface of the endoscope by hand. The distal end can be checked by operating the angle knob. Place the endoscope in the water for at least 30 seconds and observe whether there are any bubbles coming out from the distal bending part, each pipe, and all surfaces of the endoscope. If bubbles are found, it indicates that the corresponding part of the endoscope is damaged, and the endoscope must be stopped immediately.

Sixth, after the leak test is completed, take the 290 endoscope out of the water tank, wipe the connection between the leak detector connector cap and the endoscope ventilation interface with a dry gauze, turn off the air pump, pull the leak detector out of the air pump leak detection interface slightly, wait for 30 seconds or until the rubber of the bending part returns to its original state and does not expand, then disconnect the leak detector from the endoscope ventilation interface. Confirm by hand-squeezing the distal bending rubber part.
