I. Cleaning
1. Following the requirements of the Ministry of Health's disinfection and sterilization technical specifications, endoscopes and their accessories (washable parts, handles, sheaths, etc.) that have been used should be immediately soaked in a cleaning agent containing enzymes for 2-3 minutes (enzyme ratio as per product Description). The enzyme agent mainly digests proteins and fats, removes clots in the pipes, and organic phosphorus flakes from accessories. This achieves a quick and efficient cleaning effect.2. After soaking, remove the instruments and rinse them thoroughly with clean water. Rinse the lumen repeatedly with a high-pressure flushing gun. Clean the blood stains and dirt from the tooth grooves at the end of the forceps with a soft brush, wipe dry with a soft cloth, blow or suck dry any water droplets in the lumen, and then apply lubricant. Alternatively, use an ultrasonic cleaner.
Points to Note:
(1) Instruments used in surgery on patients who are HBsAg positive or have other infections should be disinfected before cleaning to prevent the spread of infection.(2) When cleaning various forceps and scissors, pay attention to thoroughly cleaning blood stains from the overlapping surfaces of the joints.(3) During the cleaning process, take care to keep small disassembled parts to prevent loss.(4) Do not immerse the wire interface connected to the machine in the cleaning solution to prevent electric shock during use. II. Sterilization
Different sterilization methods should be selected according to the different performance of the endoscope and its components, and the relevant information provided by the instrument Manufacturer.
1. High-pressure steam sterilization: All endoscopes that can withstand high-pressure sterilization should be sterilized using this method.2. Ethylene oxide: Ethylene oxide has strong bactericidal power, broad bactericidal spectrum, does not damage items, and has strong penetration. Endoscope lenses, cameras, light source light guides, and electrocoagulation wires that are unsuitable for high-pressure steam sterilization can be sterilized using this method.3. 2% glutaraldehyde immersion: Used for immersion sterilization of endoscopes, requiring 10 hours of immersion. During immersion, the joints of the instruments should be opened, and the lumen should be filled with immersion solution. Before use, rinse the remaining solution thoroughly with sterile water.4. Sterilization with a medical sterilizer.
III. Maintenance
1. Familiarize yourself with the names, Applications, and disassembly of each instrument.2. All instruments should be handled gently; do not throw, rub, collide with each other, or hold multiple instruments in one hand at the same time.3. During the use, cleaning, and maintenance of all instruments, joints should not be forced, tips should not touch hard objects, and small instrument parts should not be lost.4. Apply lubricant to the moving joints of the instruments. Maintain all instruments weekly to prevent rust and ensure good working condition.5. Sharp instruments should be fitted with rubber protective sleeves before storage to prevent damage to the cutting edge.6. Electrocoagulation and electrosurgical instruments are covered with a tubular insulating layer. Before reuse, check whether the insulating layer is intact to prevent electric shock and injury to the operator during surgery.7. Pay attention to lens protection: When the endoscope lens is not in use, a protective cover should be placed on the lens end; if there are water stains or dirt on the lens, wipe it with lens paper or first wipe it with a soapy cotton ball, then wipe it with a clean cotton ball.8. When cleaning and storing camera wires, fiber light guides, etc., they should be coiled and placed, not folded, to prevent wire breakage. After connecting the various wires to the host, ensure accurate alignment to prevent damage to the plug.
IV. Endoscope Instrument and Equipment Maintenance System
1. Regular on-site inspections by the Manufacturer (at least once a year)2. The equipment department sends technicians to the operating room every month to inspect and maintain all endoscopes and equipment.3. The operating room establishes an endoscopy team with an instrument and equipment leader responsible for the weekly management and maintenance of instruments and equipment.4. The head nurse of the operating room checks every day before surgery to ensure that all endoscopes and equipment are functioning normally.5. If any endoscopes or equipment malfunction during surgical use, they should be immediately stopped and sent to the equipment department for repair.6. If the hospital's equipment department cannot repair the malfunctioning endoscopes or equipment, the hospital's equipment department should contact the Manufacturer for timely on-site repair.7. Repaired endoscopes and equipment must pass inspection before use.
