Failure Case One

1. Failure Phenomenon

Turn on the power, press On/Stanfby, the ultrasound diagnostic instrument cannot start normally.

(1) Fault Analysis: Since the Vivid 7 hardware consists of front-end and back-end, analyze its startup sequence according to the Vivid 7 power-on startup sequence2. Fault Analysis

① Determine whether the machine is a front-end or back-end fault that causes it to fail to start normally;

② Independently test the machine's back-end to check if it can start normally. The machine's back-end mainly consists of a dual-core MSI motherboard, ATX power supply, AGP graphics card, hard disk, ECG card, ETHERNET card, PCVIC board, and PC2IP2B board, etc.

3. Troubleshooting

① Remove the back-end components from the host, open the back-end chassis, and input 220V AC power to the back-end;

② Locate the PW-ON jumper on the motherboard and short-circuit pins 6/8 (as shown in Figure 1)

③ If the back-end still cannot start normally, it is necessary to further confirm whether it is a motherboard problem or an ATX power supply problem;

④ Locate the power supply board connector on the motherboard, use a short wire to short-circuit 13/14 (black and green) connectors, at this time the back-end power switch is open;

⑤ Input 220V AC to the back-end, test the voltage of each pin according to the ATX power supply markings, and find that pins 1/2/11 have no 3.3V voltage, indicating that there is a problem with the back-end ATX power supply. Repair the 3.3V power supply section, and after repairing the power supply, test the machine, and the machine starts normally, and the fault is eliminated.

 

Failure Case Two

1. Failure Phenomenon

The Vivid7 BT04 color image quality is very poor, but the color image displayed on the cardiac probe (M4S) is normal, and the high-frequency abdominal probe has a color failure.

2. Fault Analysis

The color image failure is shown in the figure, mainly concentrated in the machine's transmission and high-voltage parts, and has little to do with the software.

3. Troubleshooting

① The fault remains after replacing the probe connector;

② The fault remains after adjusting the frequency parameters of the image;

③ Adjust the gain to the minimum, and find that the phenomenon has changed;

④ Enter the system test, Enter F2 to enter the system test under service, all front-end tests pass, but the transmission board (TX) cannot be tested;

⑤ Because the cardiac probe image is normal, judging from the reasons for image formation, the cardiac probe uses phased array phased transmission, and there may be a problem with the transmission channel; ⑥ This model has two TX transmission boards. After exchanging the TX transmission boards, the fault disappears immediately, but some other functions are lost. After replacing one TX transmission board, the fault is eliminated.
