I. Malfunction Phenomenon

The machine fails to start after powering on.

II. Fault Analysis

On-site power-on testing revealed that the machine showed no response at all. Two LED indicators on the AC power supply display the AC and DC power status, and neither light was on, thus basically confirming that the machine malfunction was due to the AC power supply.

After replacing the AC power supply, the machine started normally, and all ultrasound diagnostic functions worked properly. The fault was resolved.
The day after the repairthe using doctor reported that the machine again showed a failure to start. Inspection revealed that this startup failure was different from the previous one; the machine's control panel power switch and the eight shortcut buttons above the panel were illuminated.

The machine was repaired again. During testing, the machine started normally, and repeated tests did not reproduce the fault observed by the using doctor, suggesting that the fault was an intermittent startup failure. Subsequently, a long-run test was performed on the machine. After being turned on for 15 minutes, the machine suddenly crashed. Turning it off and restarting it was normal, but after running for 10 minutes, it automatically restarted. After the automatic restart, the machine's startup behavior was consistent with the description given by the using doctor.

Since the AC power supply had just been replaced, the possibility of a power supply causing the startup failure was low. Also, when this startup failure occurred, the two LED indicators on the AC power supply were constantly lit green, indicating that the power supply was working normally. After turning off the AC power supply to forcibly shut down the machine and then powering it on again, the machine still exhibited the same fault. At this point, a careful listen revealed a beeping alarm from the PC section.The PC section was disassembled. Its internal structure is similar to that of a modern PC computer host. In a typical computer host, a startup alarm usually indicates that the memory or other boards on the motherboard are loose.

III. Troubleshooting:

After reseating the memory modules on the machine's PC motherboard and cleaning the memory slots, the machine started normally. The using doctor observed it for a week without any further startup failures, confirming that the machine fault was resolved.
