1. Malfunction Phenomenon:

Intermittent image abnormalities occurred during the use of the equipment. This problem exists in the abdominal probe, small organ probe, and transvaginal probe, and the image resolution and quality are significantly reduced. Due to the high frequency of equipment failures, the image abnormality was captured, and the specific imaging performance is shown in the figure below.

2. Fault Analysis and Causes:

It is extremely unlikely that multiple probes will have the same malfunction simultaneously, so the probe problem is initially ruled out. Based on the abnormal images displayed, it is speculated that it may be caused by interference. To rule out interference, the equipment was moved to a room on a different floor, and the equipment was restarted, but the malfunction persisted. Then, the equipment was carefully maintained to rule out interference caused by dust inside the equipment, but the equipment malfunction persisted. At this time, it is inferred that this malfunction is related to imaging, including ultrasound transmission and reception, and image post-processing.

3. Troubleshooting:

Based on the malfunction, the equipment's channel board and signal processing board (DSC) were first suspected. The DSC is responsible for processing RF signals; aperture processing, etc., processing the dual real-time information streams from the front end, including echo, color, CPA imaging, motion energy imaging, tissue Doppler imaging, PW Doppler, CW Doppler, 2D/M mode, color M mode, and then sending the data to the main board. Most ultrasound equipment has a self-test program. Through the equipment self-test program, the working condition of the front-end board can be basically judged. First, perform a flash test of the DSC signal processing board. Press Ctrl+Alt+R on the application startup interface,Enter the command window, and after performing the flash test of the DSC signal processing board, the malfunction persists. Then test the channel board. The device has four channel boards (CB, including CB0-CB3). Each channel includes transmission control and beamforming. It is mainly responsible for signal transmission and reception; completes AD, D/A conversion; filtering and amplification of ultrasonic signals, etc. Perform a channel walk test of the channel board through the self-test program. The purpose of this test is to determine whether there is a channel board malfunction. During the test, CB1 malfunction was found and could not pass the test. After replacing the channel board, the malfunction was resolved.

4. Repair Summary:

In the repair process of this malfunction, it is necessary to be familiar with the machine's system structure and system function principles, understand which module is responsible for which function, cleverly use the elimination method and substitution method to find the accurate fault point, thereby eliminating the malfunction and ensuring the normal use of the machine.
