Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, October 17, 2019: Yesterday, the Shenzhen Testing Laboratory of the Guangdong Provincial Medical Device Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute held its unveiling ceremony in Pingshan District. Luo Wen Zhi, director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, and Yan Zhen, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Drug Supervision and Administration Bureau, attended the event.
The Shenzhen Testing Laboratory of the Guangdong Provincial Medical Device Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute was officially established in 2008. It has passed national laboratory accreditation and mainly focuses on the testing of active medical devices. After more than 10 years of accumulated testing technology, the Shenzhen laboratory has gradually developed into an important technical testing institution for the Shenzhen medical device industry. To further integrate the technical advantages of the Guangdong Medical Device Institute and the industrial resources of Pingshan District, and to better promote the safe supervision and industrial development of medical devices in Shenzhen, the Guangdong Provincial Medical Device Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute, in conjunction with Pingshan District, has built a new Shenzhen Testing Laboratory in the Shenzhen National Bio-industry Base.
It is understood that the laboratory is located in the Shenzhen Biomedical Innovation Industrial Park. It is the first national-level medical device testing institution introduced by Pingshan District. It has a 10,000-square-meter experimental building and its testing scope covers medical device electromagnetic compatibility, medical electronic instruments and equipment, and medical high-frequency instruments and equipment. It can maximally meet the technical service requirements of Shenzhen's high-end medical device industry and will radiate its technical services to Hong Kong and Macao, becoming an important medical device testing and inspection technical support platform for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
