2019 Medtec China Showcases the Innovative Colors of Medical Devices

Endoscope cables/ultrasonic diagnostic device probe cables and cable assemblies, plastic round connectors, plug-in self-locking plastic connectors, miniature electric slide push rods for transmission, positioning, and motion control in small spaces...On September 25, the three-day Medtec China Exhibition and the 15th International Medical Device Design and Manufacturing Technology Exhibition opened at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, gathering global resources for innovative displays. Exhibits and exhibitors cover the entire industrial chain of medical device design and manufacturing.

Guests gathered together, and the Medtec exhibition helped China's medical device industry move towards the world.

According to the China Medical Device Blue Book, in 2018, the size of China's medical device market was approximately 530.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.86%. It is estimated that by 2020, the annual sales of China's medical device industry will exceed 700 billion yuan. In the next 10 years, the compound growth rate of China's medical device industry will exceed 10%, and the Chinese medical device industry is in a period of rapid development.

“With the development of the industry, the Medtec China Exhibition has grown by 30% compared to 2018. More than 450 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions will meet with everyone during the exhibition.” Gong Kangkang, Managing Director of Informa Markets China, said at the opening ceremony. Reporters learned that Medtec China Exhibition used the entire Hall 2 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center for the first time this year, reaching the largest scale in history.

“Medtec is a technological resource that supports our medical device industry's access to the world.” Yan Liang, President of the Shanghai Pudong Medical Device Trade Industry Association, said.

At the debut of the New York State delegation, reporters saw its latest high-performance fiber-reinforced composites, CAD/CAM technology, 7-axis robot carving machines, various equipment and services such as chemical vapor deposition and permeation, consulting services for in vitro diagnostic/medical device product compliance technology support, indoor pressure monitors, and air filters.

The German and Singapore delegations also showcased products and services. Such as functional coatings for medical devices, precision cleaning and lubrication products, ultra-high precision metal cutting and component processing, 3D printing medical-grade materials, solutions using FFF 3D printing technology to process high-performance polymers, electromagnetic actuators and sensor technology, fiber Bragg grating sensors (DTG® & FSG®), Pentamed® PETG rigid film with anti-static properties, pressure regulators and filters, and even oil reservoirs.

As an emerging industry in the Chinese market, medical electronics is rapidly rising, and the world's top ten companies in medical electronic components and transmission control categories also made their debut at the exhibition.
