1. Judging the direction of blood flow

2. Preliminary judgment of blood flow speed
The intensity of the color Doppler signal can roughly reflect the speed of blood flow. A bright color signal indicates a fast blood flow speed, and a dim color signal indicates a slow blood flow speed.
3. Identifying arteries and veins
In actual work, there are many methods for differentiating arteries and veins. Spectral Doppler is one of the most commonly used methods. So, without spectral Doppler, how can we differentiate them using only color Doppler?
① Because arteries have pulsatile properties, their blood flow velocity is slow during diastole, showing a relatively dim blood flow signal or even no blood flow signal, while the blood flow velocity is faster during systole, showing a brighter blood flow signal. During dynamic observation, the arterial blood flow signal can be seen flashing, and the color signal is brighter.
② Venous blood flow is slow and has no systole and diastole. Therefore, the blood flow signal appears continuously, and the color signal is relatively dim.
4. Judging the nature of blood flow
The nature of blood flow includes laminar and turbulent flow. ① Laminar flow shows a relatively uniform color blood flow signal, with a high brightness in the central part and a low brightness near the vessel wall; ② Turbulent flow shows a colorful mosaic blood flow signal.
