The ultrasound transducer is a crucial part of the signal transmission chain for image reconstruction. In fact, they are fundamental determinants of image quality.

However, the medical imaging field has been using the same piezoelectric materials for more than 40 years.Over the years, despite numerous innovative designs in signal processing and beamformer architectures, image quality only significantly improved a few years ago with the advent of new crystal materials and ultrasound probe technologies.

PureWave transducer technology

Philips developed this technology because they wanted a solution that could provide imaging for technically challenging patients. The piezoelectric crystals used in PureWave transducers are purer, more uniform, have lower losses, and can transmit energy precisely and efficiently.

By combining PureWave transducer technology with precisely designed transducer designs, the frequency coverage range can be greatly increased.

PureWave significantly improves the bandwidth range and achieves a combination of deep penetration and high resolution.

In addition, PureWave technology supports advanced harmonics and has higher sensitivity over a wider frequency range, allowing for flexible sending and receiving of multiple harmonic frequencies. This further improves resolution and reduces artifacts.

PureWave sensors: C5-1, S5-1, C10-3v, X5-1, X6-1, suitable for Philips' top-of-the-line ultrasound systems, such asIU22IE33,Affiniti和EPIQ.

XDclear transducer technology

GE developed XDclear transducer technology through precise engineering and combining single crystals, acoustic amplifiers, and cold stacking.Compared to traditional GE transducer technology, it provides stronger, purer, and more efficient sound waves with a wider bandwidth.

Single crystals are the foundation of excellent image quality, which combines enhanced piezoelectric materials to generate high-quality acoustic signals.

Acoustic amplifiers, as sound insulation materials, can improve power, increase bandwidth, while reducing noise and heat dissipation.

Cold stacking will reduce heat generation, thereby improving sensitivity and penetration.

Finally, XDclear transducer technology increases bandwidth to allow each transducer to cover a wider frequency range. This achieves deep penetration, high resolution, and enhanced harmonic imaging.

GE XDclear transducers C1-6D, C2-9D, M5Sc-D, and C3-10D are suitable for GE XDclear series Models.These includeLogiq E9 XDclear,Vivid E9 XDclear,Logiq S8 XDclear and Logiq S7 XDclear.
