Cleaning and Maintenance Procedures

   1.     Turn on the power and check if the device starts and operates normally, and whether there are any error messages.

   2.     Record the device's name, model, hardware and software versions, and probe configuration.

   3.     Inquire about the user's device usage.

   4.     Turn off the power.

Remove peripheral components and disconnect all cables

   1.     Unplug the ultrasound power cord from the socket to cut off the power supply.

   2.     Carefully remove the probe from the connector and store it in an appropriate place. Prevent accidental drops, collisions, and cable pulls.

   3.     If the ultrasound is equipped with external devices such as a printer or video recorder, these devices should be removed and separated from the host.

   4.     Disconnect the signal cables, control cables, etc., connected to the ultrasound. Note the interface positions of the cables for future restoration.

Disassembly of Equipment

   1.     To achieve effective dust removal, the equipment must be disassembled.

   2.     The position of the cable connector is very important. Although most devices have anti-misinsertion devices, it is still necessary to remember the correct connector.

   3.     Use appropriate tools and methods to separate the device's casing and components. With the correct operating procedures, these tasks do not require much force. Improper disassembly methods and the use of force will damage the equipment.

   4.     Carefully store the removed screws and other components to prevent loss.

Dust Removal

   1.     Use a high-pressure air blower for dust removal.

   2.     Key areas for dust removal include:

           Power supply chassis
           Circuit board chassis
           Filter
           Fan unit

   3.     Keyboard, TGC controller, and trackball

Cleaning

   1.     Use high-quality towels and mild detergents to clean the equipment surface and probe.

   2.     When cleaning the probe, be careful not to pull the cable forcefully.

   3.     Do not wash the filter with water. If it must be washed, make sure the filter is completely dry before installing it back into the machine.

   4.     When using a wet towel, make sure to wring it out to prevent water droplets from entering the machine.

Reassembly and Power On

   1.     Reassemble the disassembled parts back into the machine.

   2.     Carefully check the cable connections to ensure they are correct and secure.

   3.     Check that all disassembled parts and screws have been installed on the equipment.

   4.     Reassemble the peripheral devices and cables to their original state.

   5.     Turn on the power, pay attention to the startup process, and then check the system functions.

End

   1.     The customer representative tests the machine's functions to confirm that the equipment is working normally.

   2.     Restore the site to its original state and clean it.

   3.     Precautions:

If conditions permit, the hospital's engineers should be invited to observe the process.

Avoid contact with electronic components. If contact is necessary, use an anti-static wrist strap or other effective anti-static measures.

Before disassembly, take photos or make notes of important parts to prevent errors during reassembly.

What parameters need to be understood for ultrasound equipment

Currently, there are many brands of ultrasound equipment. How to choose the machine you like in terms of price, performance, and applications? This section describes the relevant parameters for ultrasound equipment procurement:

  1.    Clinical applications and focus: Ultrasound is applied to abdomen, heart, superficial organs, peripheral vessels, intracavity, intraoperative, and contrast enhanced imaging. Current classifications mainly include whole-body machines, abdominal obstetrics and gynecology machines, superficial organ and vascular machines, and cardiac machines. Brands and models should be selected according to needs. For example, GE VIVID series excels in cardiac applications; Madison machines are strong in abdominal obstetrics and gynecology but weaker in cardiac functions. Japanese brand machines have excellent image quality in abdominal applications, but due to their technical shortcomings, there are fewer ideal models for cardiac imaging.

  2.    Probes: Types include convex array, linear array, phased array, intracavity, volumetric, intracardiac catheter probes, and transesophageal probes. Whether it has broadband multi-frequency variable frequency technology, whether it supports harmonic imaging function.

    3.Two-dimensional grayscale imaging system
1) Digital beam forming technology
2) Number of transmit/receive channels
